Birkenstock in the Hills was founded in 2003 in the Adelaide Hills town of Hahndorf, South Australia. Its mission was to offer comfortable, high-quality, and timeless footwear to people from all walks of life. To better reflect its ethos and increase recognition of the diverse range of brands it offers, the company has rebranded itself as Sole Drifter.
The name Sole Drifter reflects two thoughts. The first is that the soles of shoes protect our feet from varied terrain and provide support/comfort in so many circumstances, whether this be an outdoor adventure, exploring a new city or simply for everyday activities. They are made with a variety of materials and uppers to cater for individual needs. The second thought is that we as humans are not stationary beings; we constantly move and drift whether this be around our local communities or to distant parts of the globe.
