In 2026, Flinders Ranges – A Brush with Art returns for another unforgettable celebration of creativity, community and place.

An iconic regional event held annually from the first Saturday in September for five weeks, ABWA features a diverse series of exhibitions and hands-on workshops presented along an Art Trail that winds through the majestic Flinders and Southern Flinders Ranges. Towns, galleries, halls, pubs, studios and unexpected spaces are transformed into vibrant creative destinations.

ABWA showcases contemporary and traditional visual arts, sculpture, textiles, mixed media, installations and community-led projects, bringing together local, regional and visiting artists. Visitors can meet artists, take part in workshops and experience art that is deeply connected to landscape and story.

Designed as a journey rather than a single destination, ABWA encourages visitors to stay longer, relax into regional life and explore multiple towns, supporting local businesses, accommodation providers and tourism experiences along the way. With maps, digital guides and the much-loved ABWA Passport, the region becomes an open-air gallery.

At its heart, ABWA is about connection — between artists and audiences, towns and communities, creativity and place.
