Eyre Peninsula
Rumi on Louth
Eyre Peninsula
Surrounded by the pristine marine environment of the Eyre Peninsula, the island became known for immersive experiences shaped by the landscape itself, from catamaran sailing and wildlife encounters to guided exploration, coastal dining and slower moments connected to place.
At the centre of the experience was Samphire, Rumi's acclaimed restaurant, recognised with Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hats for its seasonal menus celebrating South Australian seafood, regional produce and the rhythms of land and sea.
Once an untamed sheep farm established in 1802, Louth Island is now undergoing long-term environmental restoration and revegetation, creating a more thoughtful and regenerative future for the island.
Following the conclusion of Stage One, guest accommodation, dining and visitor experiences are currently paused as Rumi transitions into the next phase of its long-term vision.
Owners Che and Natasha Metcalfe are now preparing Stage Two, an evolution of the island through future private pavilions and experiences designed with the same care, restraint and deep respect for place that have guided Rumi from the beginning.
