Accessible by a walking trail from the top car park and then via a safe, 120 metre wooden staircase (283 steps) the Locks Well Walk offers great photo opportunities to capture a stunning West Coast sunset.
Part way through the walk, the lower car park provides amenities and a lookout offering panoramic views of the rugged coastline.
Once you reach the bottom of the steps to the sandy beach you are offered the choice of which direction to head along the shore before returning to the 283 steps and walking trail which will take you back to your car and a well deserved rest!
The Locks Well Beach consistently produces big salmon and is one of the preferred locations for anglers entering the Annual Salmon Fishing Championships held in Elliston in winter from June to August.
